Maruti Suzuki's Stunning Hybrid & Electric Vehicles Unveiled
The most popular automobile brand in India, Maruti Suzuki, is about to undergo a radical redesign. As the automotive industry increasingly focuses on sustainability and eco-friendliness, Maruti Suzuki is prepared to develop a range of hybrid and electric vehicles to fulfill the changing needs of the Indian market.
Take a look at these four teaser images of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki hybrid and electric vehicles that Indians can't wait to see on the roads.
Next-gen Maruti swift
At the Japan Mobility Show 2023, Suzuki debuted the next-generation Swift. The new hatchback's exterior has been overhauled with a hexagonal grille framed in chrome, new bumpers, projector headlights with L-shaped LED daytime running lights, and redesigned taillights. Its visual attractiveness is boosted by details such as its two-tone alloy wheels and C-shaped LED inserts in the taillights.
The dashboard layout, steering wheel, and climate control buttons are all carried over from the Baleno and Fronx. The electronic parking brake and ADAS are two high-end additions. However, the most impressive feature is the new 1.2-liter petrol hybrid powertrain, which can achieve fuel economy of up to 35 km/l. The updated Maruti Swift is slated to hit the market in India sometime in 2023.
New-generation Maruti Dzire
Similar improvements are planned for the Maruti Dzire, a sedan that competes with the Swift. The Dzire and the Swift, both compact cars, will debut in India in 2024, and they will share mechanical components, gearbox ratios, and the basic layout of their cabins. This guarantees that people who prefer sedans will have the same access to cutting-edge technology and environmentally beneficial features as those who choose the Swift hatchback.
Maruti Grand Vitara 7-Seater
By offering a Grand Vitara with more passenger space, Maruti Suzuki hopes to increase its market share in the sport utility vehicle (SUV) market. This stretched SUV, set to make its debut in 2025, will be able to seat seven people comfortably and provide increased utility. It will ride on a longer wheelbase version of the Global-C platform seen in the Grand Vitara. Changes to the exterior design will differentiate it from the two-row version, although it will likely share the same engines as the Grand Vitara.
Maruti eVX
Suzuki has also shown the eVX idea during the 2023 Japanese Mobility Show. Its Y-shaped LED headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs), muscular bumpers, broad wheelarches, and aerodynamic wheels are all carried over from the original concept shown at the Auto Expo. A big screen serves as both the driver's display and the infotainment touchscreen, while a gamepad-style steering wheel and a rotary drive selector round out the futuristic cabin. It is anticipated that this electric SUV would have a range of more than 500 kilometers, which is astounding.
