Mahindra Defence to manufactre 1300 specialist light vehicle for army.

Mahindra Defence systems limited group of mahindra , signed a contract with defence ministry for 1300 light specialist vehicles to serve the indian army.Total cost of project is fix at Rs 1056 crore.The project has been planned to completed in four years.


Mahindra specialist light vehicle originally designed and developed by MDSL.Vehicle all round protection against small arms fire, are extremelly agile and also assist small independant detachments that are needed to operate this weapon platform in the operational area.


"The light specialist vehicle is a modern fighting vehicle and will be authorised to various fighting units for carriage of medium machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, as well as Anti-tank guided missiles "diffence minister said.


This project shows india's manufacturing capabilities for defence industry and another milestones to the government's  'atmanirbhar bharat' and 'make in india' initiatives.Mahindra has been at the fore front of building vehicles for the indian army and the indian forces also often depend on indian manufacturer to develop customised armoured vehicles that can tackle any terrain with ease.

India was the Maruti Baleno’s first market worldwide, where it was launched in October 2015 and it is set to receive the facelifted model first.
