Well, we all love power and performance of Mahindra thar with safety and comfort. Currently 3 door thar is in the market which is far better than its competitors in its performance and comfort. Company is planning to unveil its 5-door version Mahindra thar this year on august 15 in south Africa as global debut. Mahindra continue to test 5-door Mahindra thar. However, 5-door version thar available with hard roof-top and 4*2 option is available in it.

Mahindra Thar 5-door rear view 

There is no major exterior changes in 5-door version Mahindra thar. The thar has 300mm longer wheelbase than 3-door version Mahindra thar which is 2450mm. The Mahindra thar 5-door version is 3985mm in length, 1820mm in width and 1850mm in height. Backdoor of the car appear undersized due to heavy wheel arches cladding, which may impede ingress and egress, redesigned 5-spoke alloy wheel. Mahindra thar is likely to have 5-seat configuration and might come with third row seats. The thar will come with single-pane sunroof. Other features of Mahindra thar will be the same as 3-door version thar.

Mahindra Thar interior 

Mahindra Thar 5-door version will be powered by 2.0 litre m-Stallion turbocharged petrol engine produces 150ps and 2.2 litre m-Hawk diesel engine produces 132ps with same powertrain as current model of Mahindra thar. Mahindra thar will come with both MT and AMT unit.

Mahindra will launch this car for sale in first quarter of 2024. We expect the 5-door thar price will start from around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). Current, thar price is between 10.54 lakh to 16.77 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra thar 5-door version is affordable option to Jeep wrangler.

Mahindra thar will compete with 5-door version of Maruti Jimny and Force Gurkha.
