Hyundai has unveiled its first high performance EV in the market, Hyundai Ioniq 5N.Hyundai Ioniq 5 N also comes with exterior and interior cosmetic changes.Ioniq 5 N comes with 2 electric motor with boost mode.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N has some performance related changes in the body.Ioniq 5 N is 80mm londer and 50mm wider than standard Ioniq 5, also get 21" alloy wheel and 20mm less ground clearance to get more sportier look.Redesign the front bumper, air curtains and air-flaps to improve aerodynamics. Orange accent on lower bumper that runs across the side and to the lower part of rear bumper.Rear of the car gets large air diffuser, N-specific spoiler houses third brake light.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N gets redesigned central console to improve track performance with knee pads, shin supports, redesigned centre armrest, N-specific steering wheel with two N-buttons can be customised for driving modes.Reinforced bolster in bucket seats for better supports and cornering.Seats of Hyundai Ioniq 5N is 20mm lower than standard Ioniq 5.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is powered by 2 electric motors that combined produce 609hp but with N-Grin boost mode can produce 650hp achieves 0-100kph in 3.4second and a top speed of 260kmph.Two motors are powered by an 84kwh battery but Hyundai has not yet announce its battery range.Hyundai claims battery can be recharged 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes using a 350kW DC charger.

 It has two features which can improve its performance: 
  • N e Shift and 
  • N Active Sound +. 

N e Shift is said to emulate an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission used in N’s internal combustion engine (ICE) models. N Active Sound + paired with the N e-shift, simulates an exhaust note, not only of an Internal combustion engine, but also of electric vehicles.

Ioniq 5 N performance interior 



The N Active Sound + has three themes, namely 
  • Ignition, 
  • Evolution and 
  • Supersonic. 
The Ignition replicates the sound of a turbo-petrol engine, while the Evolution replicates the sounds of an EV, and the Supersonic theme is inspired by a twin-engine fighter jet. Hyundai says the N Active Sound + helps the driver get a reference of how the power is being utilised. 

The Ioniq 5 also gets an N pedal which is said to prioritise fast cornering speeds over energy efficiency.The Ioniq 5 gets two more driving aids 
  • the N Drift Optimiser and 
  • N Torque Distribution. 

The first simulates clutch kick action of an ICE-powered rear-wheel drive car to initiate a drift, while the latter controls torque distribution between the front and rear wheels using an electronic limited-slip differential.
