Tata Curvv would come with not only electric powertrain but also with petrol and diesel engine later on.
Recently, Tata motor's first coupe style suv spied for the first time on road which was unveiled last year at auto expo.Tata needs to fill the space between Tata Nexon and Tata Harrier.This is the opportunity for Tata motors to gain customers in compact suv segment. Tata Curvv would compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Volkswagon Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota hyryder, Honda Elevate.
Tata Curvv will hold position between harrier and Nexon.
Tata Curvv is based on Gen 2 platform for blackbird project but Curvv suv would have longer wheelbase, different front and rear design and 50mm more rear overhang with long rear doors.A true coupe like design of curvv, the roofline dips down in an aggressive manner giving a fastback stance.

Tata Curvv in production guise will not only have an electric propolsion system, with which it would launch in 2024, but also petrol and diesel powered ICE at a later date.It is expected that the Curvv EV have range of around 500km.Compared to other EV of tata curvv would have an improved and faster charger thus reducing the time to charge the battery pack.A new 4 cylinder 1500c petrol engine is being developed for Tata curvv which produce around 160hp of power.The diesel units will also be of 1500cc but with more power and torque compared to existing engine.

Safety
Tata Nexon scored 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP tests, Tata Curvv is expected to by and large retain the compact suv's shell and share windscreen, some body panels and doors in intrest of retaining build quality, safety and keep production cost down.
