Updates to the Nexon.ev are modeled after the Curvv concept, which Tata Motors says is more aerodynamic than the original. Even the new LED lighting components have been modified to be more energy-efficient, increasing range. Like before, there are some noticeable changes between the EV and the ICE Nexon. The lower half of the bumper receives sealed-off metallic strakes as opposed to the mesh-like design on the ICE Nexon. The upper portion of the nose has a single-tone, body-colored finish. There is a full-width LED Daytime Running Lamp signature that even shows the charging status. The EV maintains its split headlamp design with trapezoidal housings for the main cluster, full-width linked LED tail-lamps that separate into a Y shape, and a noticeable roof-mounted spoiler. The 16-inch alloy wheels are new and the same on both the ICE and EV variants, but there aren't any significant profile changes from the pre-facelift model. Last but not least, the tailgate sports a ".ev" badge.
Tata Nexon EV facelift interior and features
The Nexon.ev and the ICE Nexon have similar dashboard designs. It features an entirely new layered design with different textures and materials, including a trim that resembles carbon fiber, soft-touch materials, and several piano black surfaces. In addition to the new two-spoke lighted steering wheel, the top-spec EV now has a class-leading 12.3-inch touchscreen with a whole new user interface, a customizable 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with navigation, and touch-based HVAC controls with toggle switches.Other highlights of the high-end Nexon.ev facelift include a 360-degree camera, connected car technology, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, fast charging type-C ports, a single-pane sunroof, a sound system with JBL branding, voice controls, OTA updates, and a new Arcade.ev app suite.
Tata Nexon EV facelift powertrain, battery, range
There are two Nexon.ev variations: MR and LR. The LR receives a larger 40.5kWh battery whereas the MR receives a smaller 30kWh battery. The range has increased despite the fact that battery sizes have stayed the same. The MR and LR both have ranges of 325 and 465 kilometers (km), respectively, according to the ARAI, which is an increase of 12 kilometers. The batteries in both models can now be fully charged from 10 to 100 percent in 4.3 hours for the MR and 6 hours for the LR using a regular 7.2kW AC charger. You can now charge other electrical devices or even another EV with the Nexon.ev thanks to its V2V (vehicle to vehicle) and V2L (vehicle to load) charging capabilities.
The MR and LR both produce 215Nm of torque and 129 horsepower, respectively, as outputs. It's interesting to note that while power outputs have remained constant, torque on the MR variant has decreased by 30Nm, while it has decreased by 38Nm on the LR variant. The LR's 0-100kph sprint time is 8.9 seconds, according to Tata, and it has a top speed of 150kph.Three drive modes—Eco, City, and Sport—are available, and the paddle shifters may adjust the four levels of brake regeneration.
