Rev Up Your Engines! Tata Altroz Racer Spotted Testing
The Tata Altroz Racer, which was originally shown at the Auto Expo 2023, has now been spotted testing on Indian roads. The test mule found was well camouflaged and in production-ready condition, implying a quick launch.
Although there has been no official confirmation from Tata, the Altroz Racer might make its appearance by the end of the year or early in 2024. Its main rival will be the Hyundai i20 N Line. Because the hot hatch will have numerous innovative features, it will almost certainly cost a premium price. The existing model is priced between Rs 6.60 lakh to Rs 10.74 lakh. The turbo petrol variants start at Rs 9.10 lakh.
The Altroz Racer will include both cosmetic and mechanical enhancements over the basic model. The hatchback will be designed and styled with a completely black bonnet and roof, as well as stylish black alloy wheels and black ORVMs. It will also be distinguished by a 'Racer' badge on the front fenders.
The interior will be clothed in a dual-tone black and red interior theme. It has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with mobile connectivity, ventilated leatherette seats, a voice-assisted electric sunroof, an air purifier, and a wireless charger as standard equipment, Automatic climate control, Digital instrument cluster.
The sports hatchback will be driven by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 120bhp and 170Nm of torque. This engine is borrowed from the Nexon SUV and will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The Altroz Racer will produce 10bhp and 30Nm more torque than the i-Turbo variant.
