The maruti 800 is the most iconic car in indian automotive history.It is the most affordable car in the market.Many customers love to own a Maruti 800 and also maintain it quite well.The maruti 800 is often use in projects and modification of the car.

A Youtube channel named Viptronix, video shows how to convert maruti 800 in Electric vehicle.In this video a transformation of an old Maruti 800 into rear-wheel drive electric car.The Youtuber is also famous for modification of the car.

He ordered an EV conversion kit and manage to install it into the Maruti 800.72V 3kW PMSM electric motor is used in the project and gives power to rear wheel of the car.All the conversion done under the car owner request.Battery pack is located under the bonet after removing the engine of the car.The battery size is so compact there is still ample space in the engine bay.There is also more space to add more batteries to improve the car's range and performance.The battery-pack is positioned on a cross-bar that spans the width of the car.

The air conditioning unit has been removed from the car.This is first EV car which is rear wheel diven in India.To keep the weight distribution balance, the batteries has been positioned at the front and controller and electric motor, gearbox at raer of the car.Interior of the car has no change except ignition key is replaced by a seprate key to start the motor.The accelerator pedal is also swapped by conversion kit pedal which gives 3-speed acceleration.There is also a switch to control forward and reverse movement of the car.

However, this modification are not approved by the RTO and also can be illegal because of quality of wiring, batteries and motor in this project.You often heard about fire in EV scooter and car.but don't worry RTO approved workshop in India which provides electric car conversion kit.If you are intreted you can approach them for superior quality and result.
