Tata Motors has ignited excitement among SUV enthusiasts with the release of teaser images for the highly anticipated 2023 Tata Safari and Tata Harrier facelifts. These revamped models are poised to hit the market in the upcoming weeks, with bookings set to commence on October 6, 2023.
Both the Tata Safari and Tata Harrier have been subjects of intense anticipation, having been spotted undergoing testing across the nation numerous times. The teasers recently unveiled align with earlier spy shots and confirm a plethora of exciting updates, most notably in the front-end styling department.
In the case of the refreshed Tata Safari, it boasts an entirely new front bumper adorned with a broader grille featuring fresh body-colored inserts. The signature split headlamp setup endures, but with a revamped design reminiscent of the new Nexon, featuring a distinctive C-shaped housing for the primary headlamp cluster and a full-width LED daytime running lamp positioned at the top. Additionally, the teaser offers a glimpse of a spacious central air intake accentuated by a silver trim, adding a touch of sophistication to the SUV's facade.

Interestingly, the teaser for the Tata Harrier is somewhat more enigmatic, withholding specific details about its front-end styling changes. However, it does hint at a connected LED lightbar positioned at the top, indicating that both SUVs will likely exhibit distinctive front fascia updates, setting them apart from their predecessors. For instance, subtle differences in the main headlamp cluster design are discernible in the Harrier's teaser, setting it apart from the Safari.
When it comes to the profile of these SUVs, we can expect relatively minor styling adjustments, though new alloy wheel designs are anticipated to make an appearance. At the rear, the tail-lamp clusters are poised for a sharper design, featuring a connected light bar on both models. Expect to see modest updates to the rear bumper and tailgate as well. Furthermore, the teasers tantalize the possibility of fresh and vibrant color options for both the Tata Safari and Tata Harrier.
Under the hood, both SUVs are set to retain their dependable 2.0-liter diesel engines, paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. These powertrains have been recently updated to adhere to the stringent BS6 Stage II emissions norms. While Tata Motors is also diligently working on introducing petrol and electric powertrains for these models, these innovations remain on the horizon, awaiting their moment in the spotlight.
